  • Hi
I am getting following error when installing c1webdata via
    C1StudioEnterpriseMSVS.msi.
"Error 1720. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

    Please suggest the solution

  • IIS is required for the installation of the Web based controls like the
WebChart. For any web based control it is essential to have IIS installed on
the development machine. Therefore, I would request you to first check
whether IIS is installed on your machine. This can be done from the Add /
Remove Windows Components in the Add Remove program utility.

If IIS is installed on your system then I would request you to go through
some MSI tips given below. These tips might help you in solving the problems
    faced at your end.

    1. Try disabling any anti-virus software you have running as they frequently
    cause software installation failures.

    2. MSI Installers have a known issue with mapped network drives; please copy
the installer to the c:\ root drive and try running the installation again.

    3. If you are using the NTFS file system, please make sure that the SYSTEM
account has full rights over the target installation directory, the
directory containing the installer file, AND the Windows Installer
directory, located at either c:\WINNT\Installer\ (WINNT 4 / Windows 2000) or
c:\Windows\Installer\ (Windows XP). This may be the result of an altered
Windows Scripting Host installation. The best bet is to reinstall this
    Windows component.

If you still see errors after the re-installation attempt, it would be
helpful if you could send us a log of the installation process. You can
perform Microsoft Installer logging using the msiexec command:

    C:\> msiexec /I installer_file_name.msi /L*v install.log

  • Hi Swati,

    Please ensure the following.
    1. Disable any antivirus software you are running, since this software may
    cause software installation failures.

    2. MSI Installers have a known issue with mapped network drives. Copy the
installer to the c:\ root drive and try running the installation again.

    3. If you are using the NTFS file system, make sure that the SYSTEM account
has full rights over the target installation directory, the directory
containing the installer file, and the Windows Installer directory, located
    at c:\Windows\Installer\(Windows XP).

    4. You must be logged in as an administrator of the target computer. You
must also ensure that you have full permissions to install on the drive you
    have chosen.

In case the installation still does not proceed fine, you can uninstall all
the C1 components and try reinstalling then again. I would also suggest you
to send me a log of the installation using the command below:

    msiexec /I installer_file_name.msi /L*v install.log

We require Windows Installer 2.0 or higher (check the file msiexec.exe)
Internet Information Services (IIS) installed and running Administrative
    permissions.

For windows XP, some other customers have noted that you may have to reboot
in order to get this to work, even if all of the above are running. Also try
installing on a different system to isolate the problem.

    Hope this helps.

    Patrick.
