Here's detail.
My project consists of two parts: conceptual doc and reference documentation. The tool I'm using support temporary disabling any project's part (i.e any topic) for help generation. So, I can create a CHM which needed to be imported into Doc-To-Help project entirely.
Chm and Help2 are just two kinds of different outputs of the project.
Thank you very much for providing the valuable information.
With reference to the provided information, I would like to inform you that using the Modular Hub System you may link or merge the generated CHM files into a Modular Help project called hub project.
Please know that a Modular Help system allows the user to have a collection of several different Help files which appears to the end user as a single Help system.
But please make sure that the tool which you are using to generate the CHM file is also generating the .HHC file as well. The reason being is that to import an existing CHM file into an existing Doc-To-Help project, Doc-To-Help requires the corresponding contents (.HHC) file.
To know more about Modular Help System, please refer the link mentioned below:

Incase the tool which you are using is not generating the contents file (.HHC) file then I would suggest you to kindly decompile the CHM file to HTML Help project using any third party tool. Then you may convert the decompile HTML Help project to Doc-To-Help with the help of Doc-To-Help convert utility. Once the project is successfully converted then you may add your existing source document to the Doc-To-Help project and can modify it as per the requirements. To know more about the Doc-To-Help conversion utility please refer the following link:

I hope this would be helpful.
Warm Regards,

Andrew, thanks for detailed answer!
I've found chm convert tool. It produces nice new Doc-To-Help project. Great.
Now I have two Doc-To-Help projects: one after converting CHM-project (yes, my tool creates .hhp/.hhc files) and another - my main project with word files. Sure I can add word files into the first one and create TOC again. But it'd be cool to import a doc2help project into another one as a subtree of topics.
