Trying to add flash to Doc to Help word doc - no luck

I have been trying to add the flash to a source word document in a Doc to Help project. I have been using the word import feature on the ribbon in 2007. All i get using the help is a commented out addition to the document. Where can I go to find what I am doing wrong or a method other then the supplied help file?

Copying frames from one project and pasting them on another

I have a couple of Demoworks projects on my computer, and one of them has frames that I want to copy and past in another project. Is that possible? I have been trying to do that, but I notice that after I copy the frames from one project, it impossible to paste them on the second project. The "Paste" option remains unavailable on the latter.

Any suggestions?

Importing Audio

After capturing a demo, I'm trying to import an audio .wav file that was more professionally done. When I right click on the narration and select "import audio" nothing happens. No error, nothing. If I click F3, nothing happens again. How can I import the file?

I've tried demoWorks and everything went fine.

Now, I also need a simple screen shot manager and I am wondering if demoWorks could do it (since it can do video,

why not image) ?

.swf + MP3 + IE = fail

When I export to .swf with MP3 audio, the audio stutters and then drops out soon after starting (always in the same place) when the .swf if played in Internet Explorer.

The same .swf plays fine in Firefox.

I've tried rebuilding the .swf several times but still get the same behavior.

Encoding with WAV audio works with IE but sounds horrible.

Any suggestions?

The built in player templates for .swf export are fine except for one big missing feature: a volume control.

Audio playback

I can record perfectly happily as I can see voice track in Timeline but dont seem to be able to playback. This is on Vista (SP1) Toshiba Tecra a10 machine (Realtek High Definition audio with EC) speakers which are working fine otherwise.

Frame Fade In/Out?

is there the capability to fade from one frame to another? I have removed a substantial amount of frames between two points, and would like some sort of transition to make it intuitive that time had lapsed.

We are evaluating the product to use by our Dev team for documentation, demos, bug reports, and setup instructions. It seems to have most of the features we need and I have already recommended it to my customer.

There is one feature I didn't find.

Is there a way to embed a pause in the playback. When using the output for instructional purposes it would be very helpful if the player could be made to automatically pause at key points giving the user time to follow along. I realize that a user can manually click the pause button, but there are times when we may want to force a pause.

If there is a technique for doing this that anyone has discovered/developed and you would like to share your assistance would be appreciated.

Compiled Demo exe crashes...

Every time a compiled demo exe is closed...a GPF occurs. The same project can be compiled as an AVI and all is good. Does anyone out there have the same results when closing an exe compiled demo after a successful view?

The development system specs are:

DemoWorks v2007.2.0.8

XP SP3

3GB RAM

800x600 screen resolution

Dear Dan Beall, I really am satisfied with how demowork works, it is really easy and the compression of .exe is really amazing, but wanted to make a suggestion to the componentone developers, that would be to generate from demoWork the xxxx.exe incorporating some system of protection, that is to say, be able to protect .exe, so that it is only possible to be executed where I want.

Mouse Pointer Disappears In Flash

When we render an EXE file, the mouse pointer renders ok, but if we render a flash file, the mouse pointer is no where to be found.

Is there any solution to this problem?

Mouse Creep

While recording the video and voice at the same time, instead of the mouse pointer moving at the speed and time it is actually moved, it will creep during the entire frame being displayed. We've tried editing the little red mouse vectors, but that doesn't seem to help. How do you get the mouse to move during playback the same way it moved during recording? We've creating exe files.

Video Name In Task Bar

When running the video (as an exe) the task bar shows the DemoWorks Icon, but no text. How do we get the name of the video into the task bar property?

Can we control the icon also?

Hi,

We have installed DemoWorks and have been facing problems. It seems to be a bug in DemoWorks. Whenever we get to create a project with more than 700 frames in DemoWorks, it just hangs the application and goes to not responding situation.

Any help would be appreciated.

Append capability?

I'm evaluating whether this tool will work for us to create video tutorials but it seems to have one major drawback. There doesn't seem to be any way to append to a project once you hit Control+F10 to stop the recording. Am I missing something or is this an upcoming feature? If not, how is it possible to create a lengthy tutorial without having to get it perfect in one 'take'? Thank you in advance.

Demoworks Stability

I'm running DemoWorks 2007.1.0.3 and having many stability problems. For no obvious reason the application crashes many times per day and from time to time will simply start looping (I assume) until the system runs out of memory. When looking at TaskManager the Demoworks process just continues to eat memory. It is like stopping the capture just didn't.

I'm running on an IBM Thinkpad notebook with lots of memory and XP/SP2.

In any case, I'm wondering if anyone else is having these types of issues, are there any updates available/planned. At the moment the product is mostly unusable for me.

Is it possible, or are there any upcoming plans to include the ability to incorporate movie files (specifically wmv or avi, although I guess this could also extend to swf (flash) files too) into a demoworks project?

Problems with installation!

We installed your evaluation version of DemoWorks2007.

Here my questions:

1. Which version ist the latest version of DemoWorks2007? I downloaded to data files: DemoWorks2007_1.0.3 and DemoWorks2007_1.0.5?

2. After installation (version 1.0.3 or 1.0.5) I've got this error message: "Can't get reference to XML parser, Ensure that msxml.dll is installed." I have checked it and the data file is installed. But I could open DemoWorks2007. But after closing and a attempt to open the program didn't start and I get the same error message on my screen.

Importing Audio

I am evaluating this product to see if it can do what we need for a rather complex project.

We are creating a Tutorial where the total audio is about 45 minutes long, it is broken up into 7 different "chapters", we would like to be able to record the screens associated with these "chapters" and then import the wav files into each chapter, we want the user to be able to jump between each chapter, but have the whole thing bundled in one .exe. Is this possible with this software and if it is:

My first problem has been trying to import a wav file, it is stereo and therefore needs to have channels set to 2. How do you do that, the options for recording a project do not allow you to set that. It won't let you import into a captured project unless it is recorded with same options as the wav.
