Loading a Spread File
Overview
The fpSpread control can save your data to a proprietary file format that has the designated extension .SS8. (Spread 2 and Spread 2.5 saved data to files with the extension .SS2; Spread 3 and Spread 3.5 saved data to files with the extension .SS3; Spread 6 saved data to files with the extension .SS6; Spread 7 saved data to files with extension .SS7.)
These proprietary files, referred to as Spread files, can contain all data and formatting or just data.
Note: Spread 8 can open and read binary (.SS2, .SS3, .SS6, .SS7) files that were created using previous versions of Spread, but all Spread 8 binary files are saved with the .SS8 extension. |
Caution: Loading a Spread file into the control deletes the data currently in the control. The loaded file overwrites existing data. Also, if your sheet had more columns and rows than the loaded sheet, those columns and rows are removed. For example, if your sheet had 100 columns and rows of data, and the loaded sheet has 50 columns and rows of data, once the new sheet is loaded, the control only has 50 columns and rows. |
