Spread Designer
To create a static text cell
In the Spread Designer,
- Select a cell or block of cells.

Choose the cell type using one of the following methods:
- Display the pop-up menu by right-clicking the cell or block of cells and then choose Label (Static).
- From the Cell menu, choose Cell Type, Label (Static Text).
- Choose the Label button ( ) on the cell type toolbar.
The Cell Type dialog box appears. -
In the Cell Type dialog box, on the Settings tab,
- Type the text to display in the cell in the Text box.
- Specify the horizontal and vertical text alignment by selecting an option button under Horizontal Alignment and Vertical Alignment.
- Specify how text is oriented in the cell by choosing an item from the Text Orientation drop-down list box.
- If you want to underline a character in the text, select the Display Mnemonic check box, and in the Text box, type an ampersand (&) in front of the character you want to underline.
- Specify that text wraps in the cell if the text string is wider than the cell width by selecting the Word Wrap check box.
- Choose the OK or Apply button.

To set the color of the text in the cell or the background color of the cell,
- From the Sheet menu, choose Sheet colors.

On the Colors tab in the Default dialog box,

From the Property drop-down list box,
- Choose the ShadowText property to set the color of the text.
- Choose the ShadowColor property to set the background color of the cell.
- Choose the Color button.
- In the Color dialog box, choose the color for the text or background, and then choose the OK button.
- Choose the OK or Apply button.
