Spread Designer


To export to an Excel-formatted file

  1. If you want to create a log file that records the manner in which Spread handles the export of Excel features,
    1. From the Settings menu, choose General.
    2. In the General dialog,
      1. Select the Create a Log File when Importing/Exporting Files check box.
      2. Type the path and file name in the Create a Log File when Importing/Exporting Files box.
      3. Choose the OK button.
  2. From the File menu, choose Save As.
  3. In the Save As dialog,
    1. Browse to the directory to which you want to save the file.
    2. From the Save as type drop-down list box, choose Microsoft Excel 97 (*.xls).
    3. Type the file name in the File name box.
      If you would prefer to use a different file extension, type it along with the file name in the File name box.

      Note: If you use a different file name extension, the file will still be exported as the file type chosen in the Save as type drop-down list box.

    4. Choose the Save button.
  4. In the Save Excel File dialog, type the name of the worksheet in the Enter the Sheet Name box.
    If you do not type a name, Spread will name it "Sheet1".
