Saving to a Text File
To save to a tab-delimited file
To save to a delimited file
To save a portion of the sheet to a delimited file
Overview
Tab-delimited files contain data separated by tabs and carriage returns. Tab-delimited files can be opened, modified, and saved using any standard text editor. Delimited files contain data separated by user-defined delimiters, such as commas, quotation marks, or other delimiters. You can save the entire sheet or a portion of the sheet data from the fpSpread control to tab-delimited and delimited files. Using the Spread Designer, you can save directly to a comma-delimited file (.CSV file), similar to saving to a comma-delimited file in Excel.
By default, tab-delimited files created using the fpSpread control or the Spread Designer have the extension .TB8. Text files saved using the ExportToTextFile or ExportRangeToTextFile method or as a custom file through the Spread Designer have the extension .TXT or .CSV. However, you can use any extension when you save or export from the fpSpread control or the Spread Designer.
Note: The Spread version 7ActiveX controls are safe for scripting. If you are using the Spread ActiveX control in a container that supports IObjectSafety such as Internet Explorer 4, the user cannot export or save files. |
