Instructions
To open multiple spreadsheets

If you want to open an Excel file or a delimited file and you want to create a log file that records the manner in which Spread handles the import,

From the Settings menu, choose General and select the Create a Log File when Importing/Exporting Files check box.
If you are running the Spread Designer stand alone, from the Designer menu, choose Settings to open the General dialog.

Type the path and file name in the Create a Log File when Importing/Exporting Files box.
If you do not provide a path, the log file is saved in the same directory as the file you are opening.

From the Settings menu, choose General and select the Create a Log File when Importing/Exporting Files check box.
- From the File menu, choose Open.

In the Open dialog box,
- If you are opening a delimited (*.TXT) file or a comma-delimited file (*.CSV), from the Files of Type box choose Custom Files (*.TXT) or Comma delimited (*.CSV).
- Specify the path and file name.
- Choose the Open button.

If you are opening a delimited (*.TXT) file, in the Custom Save/Open dialog,

Specify the characters used for each delimiter in the boxes.
If you need to specify special characters that were used as the delimiters or as part of a delimiter string, select the special character to use in the Special Characters list, then choose the appropriate button to add the special character as a delimiter. For more information about working with delimiters in text files, see the LoadTextFile method.
- If the text file contains data to create column or row headers select either or both of the Column Headers and Row Headers boxes.
- Choose the OK button.
