Public Overloads Function Open( _ ByVal fileName As String _ ) As Boolean |
Visual Basic (Usage) | Copy Code |
---|---|
Dim instance As FpSpread Dim fileName As String Dim value As Boolean value = instance.Open(fileName) |
Parameters
- fileName
- Path and name of file from which to load the data
Return Value
Boolean: true if successful; false otherwiseThis method opens a file, which means replacing anything in the spreadsheet and overwriting it with the contents of the file. If you want to load only the data into the existing spreadsheet without overwriting anything else, use the SheetView's LoadTextFile method.
This method attempts to open the file if it is a Spread XML file. If the file has a .XLS extension, it attempts to open the file as if it is a Microsoft Excel file. It then tries Spread and tab-delimited as other file types.
This example opens a file.
