This reference provides information for developers using Spread for Windows Forms to upgrade from their Spread 8 projects. Both products are very functional but do not implement all functions identically. Spread 8 is a COM platform product while Spread for Windows Forms is a .NET platform product. Throughout this documentation, we refer generally to the newest version of Spread as simply Spread .NET to distinguish it from the COM version, which we call Spread COM. While the actual product names are Spread for Windows Forms and Spread 8, this more general form is shorter and more clearly distinguishes the two versions. The information in this reference includes:
- Object Import from Spread COM
- Differences in Behavior and Operation
- Spread COM File Member Equivalents
This is not intended as a complete upgrade guide, but as a handy quick reference for understanding what can be imported and what members have equivalents in the newer platform.
For complete API reference information, refer to the Assembly Reference.
For help with using the product, refer to the Developer's Guide.
