Glossary Item Box

Gets or sets whether data can overflow into adjacent empty cells while edit mode is on in a cell in the view.

Syntax

Visual Basic (Declaration)
Public Property AllowEditOverflow As Boolean
Visual Basic (Usage)Copy Code
Dim instance As SpreadView
Dim value As Boolean

instance.AllowEditOverflow = value

value = instance.AllowEditOverflow
C#
public bool AllowEditOverflow {get; set;}

Property Value

Boolean: true if data can overflow into adjacent empty cells in the Spread component while that cell is in edit mode; false otherwise

Remarks

Determines whether the display of data can overflow into adjacent empty cells when an editor is open in a cell.

When this property is set to true, the following occurs:

  • Left-aligned data in a cell overflows to the adjacent right cell.
  • Right-aligned data in a cell overflows to the adjacent left cell.
  • When data is centered in a cell, data overflows to both the left and right adjacent cells.

When the user moves from the cell, the spreadsheet automatically turns edit mode off and only the text that fits in the cell is displayed. To display overflow text in adjacent cells, use the AllowCellOverflow property.

Example

This example sets the AllowEditOverflow property.
