Open(String) Method
Example

Path and name of file from which to load the data
Opens a saved XML file.
Syntax
'Declaration

Public Overloads Function Open( _
   ByVal fileName As String _
) As Boolean
'Usage

Dim instance As FpSpread
Dim fileName As String
Dim value As Boolean

value = instance.Open(fileName)
public bool Open(
   string fileName
)

Parameters

fileName
Path and name of file from which to load the data

Return Value

Boolean: true if successful; false otherwise
Remarks

This method opens a file, which means replacing anything in the spreadsheet and overwriting it with the contents of the file. If you want to load only the data into the existing spreadsheet without overwriting anything else, use the SheetView's LoadTextFile method.

This method attempts to open the file if it is a Spread XML file. If the file has a .XLS extension, it attempts to open the file as if it is a Microsoft Excel file. It then tries Spread and tab-delimited as other file types.

Example
This example opens a file.
FarPoint.Win.Spread.FpSpread fpSpread1 = new FarPoint.Win.Spread.FpSpread();
FarPoint.Win.Spread.SheetView shv = new FarPoint.Win.Spread.SheetView();
fpSpread1.Location = new Point(10, 10);
fpSpread1.Height = 200;
fpSpread1.Width = 400;
Controls.Add(fpSpread1);
fpSpread1.Sheets.Add(shv);
string fileName;
fileName = "..\\..\\bin\\testsaveopen.xml";
fpSpread1.Open(fileName);
Dim fpSpread1 As New FarPoint.Win.Spread.FpSpread()
Dim shv As New FarPoint.Win.Spread.SheetView()
fpSpread1.Location = New Point(10, 10)
fpSpread1.Height = 200
fpSpread1.Width = 400
Controls.Add(fpSpread1)
fpSpread1.Sheets.Add(shv)
Dim fileName As String
fileName = "..\bin\testsaveopen.xml"
fpSpread1.Open(fileName)
