    Multiple Outputs Folders?

Is there anyway to tell D2H to place the target into different locations?  For instance, I want my NetHelp target to go the documents server that my entire company has access to, as well as to the folder that our internal home pulls it from.  I know I can just c&p the files to these locations, but it would be nice to have this automated, less for me to remember.

I know that I can also change the folder then build/rebuild, but that takes more time than c&ping the files.

    Hi,

Please note that if you are using the Nethelp target then you can deploy the Nethelp files on the server.

In order to deploy the help files on the server and making them easily assessable to the others on the network you can follow the steps mentioned on the ComponentOne web site under the article: 1216 which gives the description on how to deploy the help file on

Also you can follow the steps mentioned below:

To install NetHelp on Microsoft Internet Information Server, follow these steps:

    1. Create an IIS virtual directory for each NetHelp target you want to deploy.
    2. Make sure Sun JRE is installed on the server machine (server-based NetHelp Search requires Java and MS JVM is not used because it's obsolete).
    3. Copy C1D2HASPHandler.dll from the NetHelp subdirectory of the D2H installation directory to the server machine and register it with 'regsvr32 C1D2HASPHandler.dll'. The destination directory does not matter, but the directory where NetHelp is deployed is a good choice.
    4. Modify the platform.js file in the NetHelp directory. By default, this file contains var d2hServerPlatform = "jsp"; meaning that Search uses the Java servlet. Change it to var d2hServerPlatform = "asp"; to use ASP instead.

Unfortunately we can not specify the location of the target project.

Also I would like to inform you one thing that if in your office you want that other member of your team should also work on the same project and they also want to be the part of the same project then Doc-To-Help provides the utility of Team authoring. I would request you to visit the link mentioned below which will guide you how to work with the team authoring project:

    http://helpcentral.componentone.com/nethelp/d2h/searchresult.htm?turl=HTMLDocuments/workingwithateamproject.htm

If you are using Doc-To-Help 2007, then under the Help file of Doc-To-Help please find the Topic named as “Team Authoring” which will guide you how to use Team Authoring in the project.

    I hope this helps.

    Have a nice day.

    Regards,

    Andrew
