ComponentOne WebMenus and WebBars for ASP.NET: C1WebTopicBar Overview

C1WebTopicBar Overview

C1WebTopicBar, a descendant from the C1WebCustomFlatControl class, is a flat type Web control since it only has two levels. The C1WebTopicBar provides users the possibility to implement elegant Windows XP – styled or custom designed navigation panels on their Web pages. C1WebTopicBar consists of groups that contain items. These items can be collapsed or expanded.

The C1WebTopicBar has a full range of capabilities, some of which are listed below:

      Implementing cascading style sheets.

Combining built-in functions from other controls into the panel groups.

      Dragging and dropping group headers.

Modifying or customizing the appearance of the C1WebTopicBar.

Enabling Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript And XML) when expanding groups of data.

The C1WebTopicBar features a C1WebTopicBarGroup Collection Editor which provides ease-of-use editing to the C1WebTopicBar. As a result, it will take the user less time to create powerful navigation panels.

The following image represents the C1WebTopicBar as it appears on the Web form:

Its default settings include a single Group that contains four different types of items. The first item is a link item that is in Normal state. The second item is also a link item type, but it is in Selected state. The third item is a C1WebSeparator item which is also known as a delimiter, and the fourth item is a link item that is in Disabled state.
