Design Time Interaction > Property Page Overview > Changing values in property trees |
To change the value of a property, first select it in the property tree using the mouse or the navigation keys on the numeric keypad. Depending upon the data type of the selected property, the input controls displayed to the right of the tree change accordingly. After entering or selecting the new value, you can apply it to the grid by clicking the OK or Apply button, selecting a different tab within the property page dialog, or selecting a different item within the property tree.
If you change one or more property values by selecting a different item within the property tree, you can use the Cancel button to restore the previous values. However, if you use the OK or Apply button, or select a different tab, then the changes are committed to the grid and the Cancel button will not restore the previous values.
The input controls displayed to the right of the property tree vary according to the data type and semantics of the selected property. A brief description of each input control set follows.
