Customizing Fields

Right-click and choose the Field Settings option to customize any field you have selected in the C1Olap Data Panel. This option is available in both the top and bottom section of the panel.

The Field Settings option opens the Field Settings dialog box, which is used to filter the field data further by excluding selected information. (You can also change the data display, for example, you can set a background color for certain high values or low values, or the entire field.)

Filter tab:

• Select the fields to display one-by-one using the check boxes, or click the Filter button to set a custom filter.

Please note that if the field chosen is numeric, the button will say Numeric Filter instead of Text Filter.

Subtotals tab:

• By default, the subtotal will use the count. To set a weighted subtotal, click the Weigh by button and select a data field.

If you choose to create a weighted average or sum, some data points will contribute more to the subtotal than others.

For example, if you have a list of products and you need to find the average price for the group of products, but also want to take into account the quantity of each product purchased. You can weight the price average by the number of units purchased. 

Display tab:

• You can change the Caption of your data field, if you wish. (The caption will change in the Chart and Grid, as well as the Data Panel; it will not change in the Raw Data window.)
• You can set the Background and Foreground color of the data field within the Grid also. Please note that this setting will only affect data fields returning results. (If a data field is only a label in the grid, the background/foreground will not change.)
• Select the Bold check box to display the caption in bold. (If a data field is only a label in the grid, the font will not change.)

High Values and Low Values tab:

In order to highlight important data in the grid, you can set a background color, foreground color, and/or make the data bold in the display.

• Enter the Value, then specify whether it should be absolute or a percentage using the Not Set drop-down. If you don't change the default drop-down setting, you won't see any highlighting.
• Choose the styles for Background, Foreground, and Bold.
